Montgomery County National Day of Prayer May 6, 2021 | 7:00-8:15 AM ET

Please join with other followers of Jesus to pray for the Glory of God and the comfort of the Holy Spirit during this critical time of national and global need. As Christ’s ambassadors, we pray for Montgomery County to know the love of Father, the life of Christ, and freedom in the Spirit.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom – 2 Corinthians 3:17

Together we’ll pray for the work of the Holy Spirit in the people, systems and institutions that give shape to our communities — including our healthcare providers, families, teachers, first responders, public servants, businesses, vulnerable neighbors and more! Please join us to pray for:

  • The love of Christ to be poured out on our community through the body of Christ
  • Compassion and assistance for our healthcare providers and patients impacted by this disease.
  • The safety and well-being of our Families, Parents, Teachers and Students
  • Wisdom and courage for our Government Leaders and Public Servants; First Responders and Veterans
  • Economic recovery and health of our essential workers & businesses for the good of our communities

About: The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. In 1988, the law was amended and signed by President Reagan, permanently setting the day as the first Thursday of every May. Each year, the president signs a proclamation, encouraging all Americans to pray on this day. Last year, all 50 state governors plus the governors of several U.S. territories signed similar proclamations.
